Yesterday I realized that while Cantor has recently had its second stable release, and seems to enjoy a growing userbase, we are still using the default icon that comes with kapptemplate. That really should change for the, already pretty awesome, next release. Unfortunately my drawing and design skill are pretty much non-existent. So I rely on you to fill the gap.
Is there anyone out there who can come up with something that makes sense representing the app and just looks good?
I think we really can do better than this:

Actually, to me, the gear logo kinda makes sense. Cantor is a piece of machinery that sits between me and Sage (or whatever). I don’t know about the looking good part, though
If you need some inspiration :
http://simple.wikibooks.org/wiki/File:Set_theory_icon.svg
or something related to the Cantor set
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantor_set ), like this for example :
http://fractals.nsu.ru/img/cantor_cube_big.png
draw the klein bottle (http://www.google.com/images?q=klein+bottle) and turn it into an icon.
Point is that you take some famous surface.
Otherwise, you could refer to cantor, eg render http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Diagonal_argument_2.svg
with less lines, and make with red letters a C. This then refers to cantor’s proof, and is at the same time just an icon.
I’ll give it a try, I’ve done a couple of oxygen-style icons before
cool. thanks
